I wrote this review to say that the UTC (Formerly GE Security/ESL) 449C Photoelectric is a replacement for ESL Sentrol 449C Smoke Detectors. When ordering these with JMAC though, they always indicate the model is an older version and they have other compatible versions available. I purchased these UTC (Formerly GE Security/ESL) 449C Photoelectric as replacements and they work with our fire monitoring system just fine. We had/have 23 year old ESL Sentrol 449C detectors.
